Teaching Approach: critical pedagogy best typifies what I take to be my approach; that is, I work best when interacting with students. I like dialogue. I like responding to questions. I like learning from students.

Methodology and Expectations: after having experimented with several class formats, I come back to what I'll call a "seminar" format--even with large classes. What do I expect? I expect curiosity from my students, an engagement in dialogue, and an interest in speculation. I also expect students to have some familiarity with and/or interest in language and grammar.
