Brigitte Clarke

  • Administrative Assistant/Assistant to ARIEL

Professional Description

Brigitte is a 'jack of all trades' for the Department of English. She is the administrator for the journal ARIEL, and is responsible for overseeing technical equipment, as well as editing the Department website. She is also a freelance writer and editor, and a selection of her publications is available below.

Interests

As well as writing and editing online fanfiction stories, I write non-fiction for newsletters, magazines, and online publications. I am inspired by prose and poetry from the 17th century to the Postcolonial era, and also by the rugged mountain scenery of western Canada. I'm a voracious reader of fiction (esp. historical adventure, fantasy & magic realism), and fanfiction (Twilight, Star Wars). Other interests include film; learning mandolin; craft painting; gardening; and travelling.

Activities

Yoga; cycling; hiking; snowshoeing; and cross-country skiing.
