Graduate Studies in Creative Writing
The University of Calgary does not offer a degree in Creative Writing. We offer an M.A. or Ph.D. in English with a Creative Writing option. For this reason, students considering a Creative Writing option at the M.A. or Ph.D. level are admitted to the program on the basis of their academic preparation and fulfill the same requirements, including course work, as other M.A. or Ph.D candidates in English. This means they will be taking literature courses as well as writing workshops.
